Dr. Deanna Boston, Au.D., CCC-A, has been an audiologist at Nelson Audiology since 2001 and became the owner of Nelson Audiology in 2021. After discovering audiology in college, she sought out shadowing opportunities to see the field in action—where she met her long-time mentor, Dr. Broom-Nelson.
When asked what Dr. Boston enjoys most about her job; she responded: “I enjoy working with my patients and helping them hear well again.” I love seeing my patients’ faces light up when we have found a way for them to enjoy life again through better hearing. Nelson Audiology strives to go the extra mile for each and every patient.”
Dr. Boston earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 1999 and her Master of Science of Audiology degree in 2003 from Illinois State University in Bloomington, Illinois. She then continued her education and earned her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, School of Audiology. She is a licensed audiologist in the State of Illinois and has obtained her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A), reflecting an exceptional level of dedication to her field that goes well beyond basic practice standards to deliver the highest tier of evidence-based care. Professionally, Dr. Boston is a member of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA), the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and the Illinois Academy of Audiology (ILAA). Dr. Boston is also very active as a board member in many local boards to advance and advocate for the healthcare of the surrounding communities.
Dr. Boston is committed to building lasting relationships with patients and collaborating with local physicians and healthcare providers to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care close to home. Her clinical interests include hearing aid technologies, aural rehabilitation, and tinnitus management.
Dr. Boston resides in Litchfield. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their four children. She enjoys watching her children become young adults and supporting them in their efforts, activities and sporting events.
